Ubuntu Budgie 18.04 Bionic Beaver is the first long term supported release of Ubuntu Budgie, an official community flavor of Ubuntu featuring Budgie Desktop developed and maintained by Solus project. The Ubuntu Budgie team is putting a lot of effort into making their first most LTS release. It is not just shipping a preinstalled budgie desktop on Ubuntu base. Instead, it is a continuous effort to provide an elegant, user-friendly experience with a custom-made Gtk+ and Icon themes.

First impression of Ubuntu Budgie 18.04 LTS Desktop. There is no much difference comparing to the previous release, except the transparent panel on top, Date & Time Conky on Desktop and additional applet icons on the panel. |

The Budgie Welcome App - An app developed by Ubuntu Budgie team that introduces the operating system to the users and help them to perform various customizations like layout change, theme change, applet installation ..etc. This app is expected to launch in the first run of the operating system. Unfortunately, I could n't find it on live image and had to install it explicitly from repositories. |

LibreOffice 6.0.x is included on Ubuntu Budgie 18.04 LTS. There is a discussion going on inclusion on LibreOffice, whether include it as snap or as .deb. It is included as snap, users can enjoy updates from the LibreOffice project. If it is Debian, it will be always restricted by update policy of Ubuntu. |
