budgie-remix 16.10 is an unofficial community derivative of Ubuntu featuring beautiful, elegant budgie desktop environment developed by Solus Project. This is the first release of project that completely follows Ubuntu release cycle. During the development cycle, the team has taken at most effort get their packages accepted in Debian and Ubuntu repositories and most of the packages have been approved by the respective maintainers. It is expected that, by next release, all packages will be approved and project can be recognized as an official community flavor of Ubuntu.

Budgie Remix is an unofficial flavor of Ubuntu that features Budgie Desktop, a modern yet traditional looking desktop environment built over GNOME 3 stacks. Budgie Remix combines powerful Ubuntu base with beautiful Budgie Desktop developed and maintained by Solus project. Budgie Remix 16.04, first most release of project, is based on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and comes with Arc theme, customized lightdm display manager and a good looking wallpaper.

The Budgie Remix team is trying to be an official Ubuntu flavor so that, it can create a wider user base.

Manjaro Budgie 16.06-RC preview

Even though original Budgie Desktop offers a classical desktop with icons, Manjaro Budgie 16.06 comes with a clean desktop, and it is using vanilla Budgie Desktop. Only differences are few additional icons on Budgie panel, custom wall paper and Manjaro Budgie theme named vertex-maia-theme.
