budgie-remix 16.10 preview

budgie-remix 16.10 is an unofficial community derivative of Ubuntu featuring beautiful, elegant budgie desktop environment developed by Solus Project. This is the first release of project that completely follows Ubuntu release cycle. During the development cycle, the team has taken at most effort get their packages accepted in Debian and Ubuntu repositories and most of the packages have been approved by the respective maintainers. It is expected that, by next release, all packages will be approved and project can be recognized as an official community flavor of Ubuntu.

Ubuntu GNOME 16.10 is a regular 6 monthly release of Ubuntu community flavor featuring GNOME Desktop, released on 14th October 2016. This release includes GNOME 3.20. The core system is using Gtk 3.20, however some Apps like Maps, Videos, Books ..etc are taken from 3.22 release.

Ubuntu 16.10 Yaketty Yak, the regular 6 monthly release of Ubuntu was released on 13th October 2016. This release includes improved support for hybrid cloud operations with Juju 2.0. For a desktop user/developer a notable highlight is availability of Unity 8 developer preview, which is an attempt of Canonical to provide a unified user experience across different devices like mobiles, tablets and desktops. Other highlights includes improved support for snap packages, OpenStack newton with secure bare metal performance and containers, performance improvement in network, latency and virtualization ..etc.
